Dark Shadows [Review]

Aside from being, as usual for Tim Burton, very pretty, I can see no particular reason for this film to have been made.

A rock-solid example of ho-hum filmmaking.

It seems a bit odd to release it in the UK at all, since the TV show never aired here.

I'm guessing that never having seen the series makes the film hard to follow, as the film makes no effort at all to explain what are presumably references to the series.

I assumed this is why every other line of dialogue in this film feels like a massive exposition dump... and why we're apparently supposed to accept that Depp's character and Heathcote's character are supernaturally in love or something after a grand total of... what, three, perhaps four brief conversations?
