I noticed in the paper this morning that a group of 400 feminists dressed as suffragettes demonstrated outside parliament yesterday to demand equal rights.
You've got to respect them. In fact I'd take my hat off to them, but apparently they hate that.

Date: 2012-10-27 02:45 pm (UTC)You don't have to tip a hat, hold a door, carry a package or anything of that sort for a woman. She doesn't need you to do that. If you do it, though, women are intelligent enough to see it for what it is -- a polite gesture. A polite woman will say, 'thank you', in recognition that the gesture was intended not as an insult to the woman's abilities but as a polite gesture.
I've held doors for men and had them say 'thank you' to me. I always thank a man who holds a door for me, whether I need it at that moment or not.
Hasn't this been settled decades ago? Isn't it time to focus on the issues the women were raising instead?
