Specifically, chippy junkies who hang out at Kings Cross and, when you politely decline to give them money, get abusive & threatening.
Note that I say 'politely declined'. I was indeed polite, although I have to say it feels very strange to apologise to a complete stranger for not giving them free money.
Still, I've been reassured that I'm a 'complete fucking pig fuck', and apparently there'll be a small army of junkies on my doorstep in the morning, all ready to do me over.
It's nice to see that the skills of banter and badinage haven't been lost in this day & age...

That reminds me of the first efforts to get the Italians to quit littering their streets. The strongest and most popular objection was that depositing rubbish properly in bins would steal vital work from the street sweepers.
