Todays note of amusement :)
Feb. 28th, 2003 06:24 pmConsidering the slagging off I've got from here and there over the fact that I just dumped the TOME on the Cam 'without consultation', when I read the post about the National officer elections I couldn't help but be tickled over noticing that changes to the structure are being made...er...without consulting the membership.
Seems that people learn the political necessity of the fait accompli bloody fast when they're in the hot seat *g*

Date: 2003-02-28 10:52 pm (UTC)We had two 'dictators', that's what got us this fucked up.
We need openness, fairness and involvement.
If you can GUARANTEE a benevolent dictator who WILL shuffle off when what needs to be done has been done, then fine. Oh, you can't?
Would you want a dictatorship IRL? No, didn't think so.
And AFAIK the changes in structure (oversight etc) still have to be ratified, I thought that was why it was being announced as part of the AGM.
Time to check...

Date: 2003-03-01 05:22 am (UTC)and who in the meantime would just DO what needs done - tho that certainly wouldn't be popular :)
but that person currently doesn't have the time to do the job so therefore isn't currently considering standing
oh and we got this fucked up because things weren't done for a few years *shrug*
and openess and fairness yes - but ONCE its all sorted out
hell in my opinion the society should take 3 months out and concentrate everyones energies to dealing with all the stuff for once and for all *shrug* not very likely tho :)
