Oh, it's that time again.
Mar. 5th, 2003 10:08 amIt's my birthday.
I'm not really celebrating, because, special though ones birthday is supposed to be, it won't stop me doing a 12-hour working day today - just like most days in fact.
Today is also the first day of lent. In a moment of hubris, I've decided to try and give up booze for the duration. I know that I'm not going to succeed and I've already added a couple of riders to the resolution (I have to go out with clients for occasional drinks for my job, and so I know I'll get let down here), but I'll certainly manage a serious reduction to my intake.
What is everyone else giving up?

Date: 2003-03-05 02:33 am (UTC)Since I'm quite definitely lacking in faith, it feels hypocritical to "do" Lent, so I'm not. I'm with one of the HP slashers in thinking that it should be something you *enjoy* that you give up, rather than using Lent as assistance in (eg) dieting, so I'm not doing it for that reason, either.
